Cork is second in size only to Dublin, and man, the downtown area is like trying to drive through a hedge maze (without the hedges). 'Grid system' was not a known concept to the city designers of the Middle Ages. Tiny one-way streets, twisting alleys, crazy pedestrians, and two branches of the River Lee wending through it all make for a challenging commute.
Our hotel is a plain old high-rise near the University. They have cool little glassed-in balcony areas that jut out over the river. Included are some pictures of Lily and Sam doing their homework, in case any teachers are reading this.
